Job Opportunity: Technical Outside Sales Representative
(Industrial Welding & Fabrication Equipment)
About Justram
Justram Equipment Inc. is a trusted Canadian distributor of pipe welding and fabrication equipment serving industrial clients since 1981. We’re known for hands‑on expertise, responsive service, and long‑term customer partnerships. Join a collaborative team where technical curiosity and a true sales hunter mindset are valued and rewarded.
The Opportunity
We’re hiring a Technical Outside Sales Representative to drive new business and grow existing accounts across the GTA/Ontario region. You’ll spend roughly 80% of your week visiting customers—prospecting, demoing equipment, and closing deals—while partnering with our in‑house team to deliver complete solutions. What You’ll Do
- Prospect and win net‑new business: identify leads, cold‑call, qualify opportunities, and advance deals through the full cycle.
- Own a territory plan: build a pipeline, run outreach campaigns, and meet/exceed sales quotas and territory growth targets.
- Conduct on‑site product demos and application walk‑throughs for welding, cutting, pipe machining, and related equipment.
- Expand existing accounts: strengthen relationships, uncover new use cases, and increase share of wallet.
- Solve customer problems: gather requirements, recommend configurations, coordinate delivery/training, and ensure adoption.
- Represent Justram at industry events/trade shows; follow up on leads to conversion.
- Use CRM diligently to track activities, forecast accurately, and report market insights (competitive intel, pricing, product feedback).
- Collaborate internally (sales, ops, vendors) to craft proposals/quotes and deliver on customer timelines.
What You’ll Bring
- 3–7 years of success in outside/field sales with heavy cold‑calling/prospecting and consistent quota attainment.
- Experience selling industrial or engineered mechanical products (e.g., welding equipment/consumables, pipe machining & fabrication tools, heat‑exchanger products, stationary/portable machine tools, hydraulic tools).
- Strong technical aptitude with the ability to learn complex products and perform impactful demos.
- Presentation, negotiation, and closing skills; comfortable engaging at shop floor and leadership levels.
- Self‑directed with excellent territory time management and a disciplined, metrics‑driven approach.
- Proficiency with MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and ability to learn our ERP/CRM to create quotes, proposals, and forecasts.
- Education: Diploma/degree in a mechanical/technical discipline or equivalent industrial experience.
Nice to Have
- Experience selling into fabrication shops, EPCs, maintenance/turnaround, utilities, or OEMs.
- Knowledge of welding processes (GTAW, GMAW, SMAW), cutting, beveling, and pipe prep.
Requirements
- Valid Ontario driver’s licence, clean abstract, and reliable vehicle for regular travel.
- Valid passport for occasional manufacturer training (outside Canada).
- Ability to lift up to 50 lb and safely navigate stairs/ladders during site visits.
- Must be authorized to work in Canada.
- On‑site role (Aurora HQ) with frequent customer travel; no remote‑only option.
What We Offer
- Base salary + uncapped commission (earnings scale with performance).
- Comprehensive group benefits.
- Vehicle/expense reimbursement for territory travel.
- Manufacturer product & sales training and ongoing professional development.
- A supportive team culture with autonomy to build your business.
If you’re a technical, field‑savvy closer who loves building long‑term customer relationships, we’d love to meet you!
