Tri Tool 224B Pipe Bevelling Machine

The Tri Tool 224B BEVELMASTER is a portable ID-mounted machine for facing, bevelling and counterboring large pipe. Standard machining capacity extends to 24 inches OD (609.6 mm); larger diameters require the appropriate single-point and mounting accessories. Contact Justram with your pipe dimensions and weld preparation drawing.

Large-pipe end preparation

The 224B clamps inside the pipe and advances the cutting head with an in-line feed. Its standard head accommodates three tool holders. Air and hydraulic configurations are available; the selected drive, mounting system and tooling must match the material and operation.

Standard 224B specifications

SpecificationListed value
Standard mandrel mounting ID6.813–24.630 in (173.1–625.6 mm)
Standard maximum machining OD24.000 in (609.6 mm)
Counterboring range8.500–24.000 in (215.9–609.6 mm)
Standard form-tool wall capacityUp to 2.340 in (59.4 mm), subject to procedure and tooling
Axial feed travel5.380 in (136.7 mm)
Listed machine weight420 lb (approximately 190 kg)
Air supply95 cfm at 90 psi (621 kPa)

Mounting capacity and machining capacity are separate limits. A mandrel that fits the bore does not by itself establish cutting capability. Confirm the supplied configuration, pipe wall and end preparation for the intended cut.

Single-point and miter-mandrel options

The single-point accessory is listed for beveling up to 42 inches OD (1066.8 mm); the current manufacturer specification separately lists flange-facing up to 50 inches (1270.0 mm). These are optional machining configurations, not standard-machine capacity.

  • The listed 37.5-degree single-point bevel range is 7–42 inches (177.8–1066.8 mm).
  • Nominal radial feed travel is 5 inches (127.0 mm), with eight selectable feed positions.
  • The listed miter mandrel covers 7–24.25 inches ID (177.8–616.0 mm).
  • With the compatible miter-head setup, listed alignment adjustment is ±5 degrees angular and ±0.19 inch (4.83 mm) offset.

Confirm the exact single-point kit, jaw extensions, workpiece support and clearance for larger pipe. Radial travel is not the same as a permitted wall thickness.

Material, handling and package requirements

Specify the material grade and hardness, including carbon steel, chrome steel, stainless steel, copper-nickel or aluminium work. Inconel and other high-temperature alloys may need application-specific cutting procedures. Provide the ID, OD, wall, bevel and counterbore drawing, plus available power and access.

The listed package includes the machine, tool holders, drive, mandrel and jaws, upper lifting frame, wrench kit and manual. Confirm the exact supplied items and accessories in the quotation; a floor stand is optional. Plan lifting and support around the configured machine weight.
