Tri Tool 601SBCM Clamshell
The Tri Tool 601SBCM is a collet-mounted split-frame lathe for severing and beveling small-bore, in-line pipe. Its mounting range is 0.405–1.315 inches actual outside diameter (10.3–33.4 mm). Contact Justram to select the collets, drive and cutting tools for your pipe or tube.
Small-bore pipe cutting and bevel preparation
The 601SBCM opens into two halves for installation around an existing line. Collet mounting supports the workpiece around its circumference and helps centre the machine. Select a collet for the actual outside diameter and check the support needed for thin-wall material.
A compact frame and flexible drive shaft help with restricted-access work. Air and 18V cordless drive options are listed by Tri Tool; confirm the motor, shaft and accessories included in the supplied package. Clean-room configurations are available by arrangement.
SBCM model selection
The dimensions below are actual outside diameters, not nominal pipe sizes. For tube applications, confirm the appropriate collet with Justram.
| Model | Actual OD range (in) | Actual OD range (mm) |
|---|---|---|
| 601SBCM | 0.405–1.315 | 10.3–33.4 |
| 602SBCM | 1.315–2.375 | 33.4–60.3 |
| 603SBCM | 1.500–3.000 | 38.1–76.2 |
| 603.5SBCM | 2.875–4.000 | 73.0–101.6 |
601SBCM wall thickness and setup
- Standard severing: up to 0.250 in (6.4 mm).
- Severing with special procedures: up to 0.358 in (9.1 mm), subject to application review.
- Severing and single beveling: up to 0.250 in (6.4 mm).
- Severing and double beveling: up to 0.188 in (4.8 mm).
These limits depend on the operation, material and tooling. The 0.358-inch figure is not a general-purpose cutting-and-beveling rating. Verify heavier-wall procedures before ordering.
Specify the cutting application
Send Justram the actual OD, wall thickness, material, bevel profile, available clearance and preferred power supply. Tool bits must suit the material and finish required, including stainless steel, carbon steel and nickel-alloy applications. Confirm clean-room requirements and supplied-machine configuration in the quotation.
