Tri Tool 612SB Clamshell Pipe Cutter

The Tri Tool 612SB is an OD-mounted clamshell pipe cutter for severing and bevel preparation on installed pipe. Its mounting range is 8.625–12.750 inches actual outside diameter (219.1–323.9 mm), corresponding to common 8–12-inch nominal pipe sizes. Justram can help match the drive, mounting pads and tooling to your application.

Split-frame pipe cutting and beveling

The 612SB opens around an existing line and clamps to the pipe exterior. Mechanical cold cutting prepares the pipe without a flame-cutting process. Suitable tool modules allow severing and beveling in one setup; the operation and wall capacity depend on the selected tooling.

Self-centering or adjustable mounting pads are available. Check pipe ovality, surface condition and clearance before selecting the setup. Incremental tool feed controls the cutting depth, while enclosed drive gears and a repositionable motor mount support access and maintenance.

612SB drive and tooling selection

  • Air, electric, hydraulic and servo drive options are listed for the 612SB; confirm the supplied motor and utilities.
  • The listed 1.500-inch (38.1 mm) wall capacity requires the appropriate accessory tool module and application review.
  • Tool-module position changes working range and radial clearance.
  • Counterboring and socket-weld removal require suitable accessories; they are not implied to be included.

The smaller models have different drives and tool limits. The 602TSB is a separate low-clearance boiler-tube option; ask Justram for its application-specific setup.

Request a configured pipe-cutting package

Provide pipe OD, wall thickness, material, bevel drawing, space around the pipe and available power. Identify whether the work involves a straight cut, single or double bevel, counterbore or weld removal. Justram can confirm the required machine, mounting pads, tool bits and accessories before quotation.

Review the Tri Tool 612SB technical specifications and operating documents. For larger pipe, compare the large SB clamshell range; for small-bore collet mounting, see the 601SBCM.
