Check gas flow at the torch
The CK-GFT measures gas delivery at the nozzle, helping compare what reaches the torch with the upstream flow setting. It is useful for setup checks and for investigating an unexpected change in gas delivery.
Tester details
- Manufacturer: CK Worldwide.
- Part number: CK-GFT.
- Measurement location: torch cup or nozzle.
- Listed scale: 10–40 CFH (cubic feet per hour).
Use the markings and instructions on the supplied tester for the applicable gas and reading method. The scale range is not a recommended welding-flow setting or an accuracy certificate.
Using the reading
With the arc off, check flow using the equipment’s gas-test function and the tester positioned as directed by the manufacturer. Compare the result with the required setting for the cup, joint and welding procedure.
A low or inconsistent reading can prompt checks of the gas supply, connections, hoses and torch components. The tester alone does not locate a leak or prove that shielding is adequate around the weld. Excessive flow, air movement and joint access can also affect gas coverage.
Related torch setup checks
Record the cup and flow setting together when repeating a setup. For electrode extension, see the CK TG1 Tungsten Stick-Out Gauge. Confirm cup fit and any calibration-documentation requirement with Justram before ordering the CK-GFT.
