Reverse Pressure Test Plugs — EST GripTight

EST GripTight GTRP reverse-pressure test plugs for localized flange-to-pipe weld testing. The arrangement applies radial, hoop and axial loading to the weld. Manufacturer range: 2–48 inch NPS, up to 2,250 psig for applicable configurations.

GripTight GTRP reverse-pressure test plugs isolate a test volume between the plug and a test flange. Because the plug and test flange act independently, the flange-to-pipe weld is subjected to radial, hoop and axial loading during the hydrotest without filling the entire piping system.

Choose the required test arrangement

This design is intended where longitudinal loading of the flange-to-pipe weld is part of the test requirement. A localized test remains subject to the project’s test procedure and acceptance criteria; it does not establish the condition of untested parts of the system.

Published range and limits

Manufacturer size range: 2–48 inch NPS (DN50–DN1200), with custom requirements reviewed on request.
Published maximum test pressure: up to 2,250 psig (155 barg), subject to the selected configuration.
Standard seal material: urethane; alternative seals require compatibility review.

Confirm the exact plug bore range, pipe schedule and material, flange rating, test temperature and pressure. The allowable pressure is limited by the selected plug and the other components in the test arrangement.
