Heavy Duty Hydraulic Shears — Holmatro Large Mobile Cutters
Holmatro ICU 40 heavy duty hydraulic shears are available with short A 20 or standard A 30 blades. Compare blade opening, cutting force and tool weight for your recycling, demolition or foundry application. A compatible hydraulic power and hose package is required.
ICU 40 hydraulic cutters for industrial applications
Holmatro ICU 40 heavy duty hydraulic shears are hand-held mobile cutters for vehicle dismantling, recycling, demolition and removal of risers or feeders from aluminium castings. Select the blade configuration to suit the material, section and access at the cut.
Choose short or standard blades
- ICU 40 A 20: short, curved blades with a 102 mm opening, maximum cutting force of 594 kN and ready-for-use weight of 19 kg.
- ICU 40 A 30: standard blades with a wider 181 mm opening, maximum cutting force of 644 kN and ready-for-use weight of 19.4 kg.
Both models operate at a maximum working pressure of 500 bar. Cutting force is a tool rating; it does not establish the allowable diameter of every material. Confirm the material grade, solid or hollow section, wall thickness and blade-specific cutting capacity before selection.

Hose options must be matched to the pump, couplings and operating requirements of the complete system. Confirm the proposed hose length and package configuration with Justram.
Handling and power requirements
The ICU 40 uses two-hand controls with a dead-man function and guarded moving parts. A compatible hydraulic pump and hose assembly are required. For repetitive work, discuss a suitable gantry and balancer arrangement to support the tool and reduce the handling load.
Follow the model-specific instructions for workpiece positioning, blade inspection and maintenance. Describe the expected cutting frequency when requesting a package so the power unit and support equipment can be selected for the duty.
Request an ICU 40 cutter or blade quote
Provide the required model or blade type, material and section dimensions, available access, power source, hose length and operating frequency. For replacement parts, include the model and serial number.
For other tool sizes, compare medium duty mobile cutters, light duty hydraulic shears and the ICU 07 A catalytic converter cutter.
