Flange Weld Test Plugs

The EST High Lift flange weld test plug isolates a local test space around a flange-to-pipe weld. This reduces the volume of water needed compared with filling the complete line. Its ported centre shaft supports monitoring of conditions beyond the seal, with purging, welding and hydrostatic testing performed under the applicable operating procedure.
Match the flange, pipe bore and test pressure
The manufacturer’s product page and technical brief list 3/4–24 in. NPS (DN20–DN600). Broader sizes appear in the product catalogue; ask Justram to confirm a suitable assembly for sizes outside the listed product-page range. Select by flange class and facing, pipe schedule, actual bore, weld geometry and required seal position.
- Class 150: published maximum test pressure 450 psig (31.0 barg).
- Class 300: published maximum test pressure 1,125 psig (77.6 barg).
- Class 600: published maximum test pressure 2,250 psig (155 barg).
These are manufacturer limits for the corresponding configurations, not interchangeable ratings for every flange or plug. The allowable test must also respect the actual flange, pipe, temperature and complete assembly. Higher classes or pressures require a specifically confirmed model.
Installation and inspection requirements
The High Lift seal design provides clearance during installation and removal. Adjustable seal depth is available on specified smaller sizes; larger assemblies have different installation requirements. Confirm the arrangement before ordering, particularly where internal weld protrusion or limited access is present.
Use the manufacturer’s instructions for the exact plug and the site’s approved isolation, hot-work and pressure-test procedures. The selected test method and any required nondestructive examination remain subject to the project’s inspection requirements; this product description does not waive them.
