Holmatro HLB pneumatic lifting bags provide a low-profile option for lifting and positioning heavy loads. The 12 bar (174 psi) range includes models with maximum capacities up to approximately 96 metric tonnes. Available lifting force depends on the selected bag, pressure and lifting height.
HLB air lifting bags for lifting and load positioning
Holmatro pneumatic lifting bags use compressed air to lift, move or position loads where insertion clearance is limited. The HLB range operates at a maximum of 12 bar (174 psi), with bag sizes selected to suit the available footprint, load and required lift.
Select capacity at the required lifting height
The range extends from approximately 2 to 96 metric tonnes of maximum lifting capacity, depending on the model. These figures are not the capacity available at every height. As a conventional HLB bag inflates and changes shape, its effective contact area and available lifting force decrease. Use the model-specific capacity-versus-height information to select a bag for the actual lift.
For example, Holmatro lists the HLB 96 at 95.9 metric tonnes maximum capacity at 12 bar, with a maximum inflation height of 565 mm and a 27 mm thickness including the profile. Maximum capacity and maximum inflation height are separate ratings and must not be assumed to occur together. Smaller models have different capacities, heights and dimensions.

Air supply, controls and lift planning
Specify the bags together with compatible pressure regulation, controls, hoses and air supply. Operating pressure must remain within the ratings of the complete system. Confirm air requirements, load contact conditions, support arrangements and any proposed stacking against the applicable Holmatro instructions.
Lifting bags are part of a planned lifting arrangement. Follow the manufacturer’s requirements for inspection, load support and operation; do not select a system using maximum tonnage alone.
