Low Profile Inflatable Pipe Stoppers

HFT Pipestoppers low profile inflatable pipe stoppers use a shallow, disc-like form where a standard cylindrical or spherical stopper needs more straight pipe length. Also called pancake stoppers, they can suit selected openings near elbows and inside flanged necks.

Size, access and service

The manufacturer’s standard round range is 6–88 inches (152–2,235 mm). Provide the measured bore, available insertion depth, access route and intended orientation so the fit can be reviewed. A nominal diameter alone does not confirm suitability.

Typical uses include keeping debris or vermin out of pipe ends and temporary gas containment where the selected model’s limits permit. The manufacturer’s product FAQ lists 80°C (176°F) as the recommended maximum for the standard low profile range; confirm the supplied configuration for heated work.

Inflation and retrieval

A standard Schrader valve connects to an inflation hose; the listed arrangement uses a 1.2 m hose. Specify the hose reach needed for the installation. Use the inflation method and pressure required by the supplied instructions.

Retrieval tags allow a suitable line to be attached for removal of the deflated stopper. Retrieval attachments should not be treated as pressure restraint or lifting points without a specified rating.

Pressure and restraint requirements

Bladder inflation pressure and the pressure held back inside a pipe are separate limits. Ask Justram for both ratings and the required bracing or restraint for the selected stopper. Confirm the installation arrangement before using it for a pressure test or gas containment.

Square, rectangular and custom shapes

Custom inflatable stoppers can be specified for duct openings and other geometries. Send the opening dimensions, corner details, access restrictions and application conditions. The examples below illustrate different constructions; they do not establish a lifting capacity or a shared pressure rating.
