Vessel Profile Cutting Machine — Watts
The Watts vessel profile cutting machine supports 3D pressure vessel profiling and dished end profile cutting. Discuss the workpiece geometry and CAD workflow with Justram to identify a suitable configuration.
Cutting Dished Ends or Large Vessel Profile Cutting
Using the Watts-Mueller 3D Profiling Machine with the 3D CAD software it is possible to create complex pressure vessel designs at the machine or import from a 3D drawing package like Codeware’s Compress. This machine is designed specifically to perform intricate cuts such as those pictured for vessels and dished ends. Our thermal 3D profile cutting machines are available in several series to accommodate vessels from as small as 3″ to 160″.
Both plasma and oxy-fuel cutting torches are available.

Plan your vessel profiling configuration
For CNC vessel head cutting, supply the head profile or drawing, diameter, depth, wall thickness, material and workpiece weight. For vessel shells, also include shell length and the opening locations and bevels required. Confirm clamping, handling and torch access for the actual workpiece rather than selecting equipment from diameter alone.
Identify the CAD package and file formats used by your team so the import and programming workflow can be checked during quotation. The size range above covers several machine series; it is not the capacity of a single configuration. Contact Justram with a representative drawing and production requirements.
