Tri Tool 201BA Pipe Bevelling Machine

The Tri Tool 201BA is a compact OD-mounted machine for facing and bevelling boiler tube ends. It clamps around the tube exterior and uses a right-angle feed for restricted-access work. With appropriate saddles and cutting heads, the listed tube range is 0.250–2.000 inches OD (6.4–50.8 mm).

External clamping for boiler tube preparation

The 201BA mounts on the outside of the tube, so it does not need an internal mandrel grip. Its narrow body and side-operated feed support work around waterwall cutouts and between boiler panels. Verify the complete machine and cutter envelope against the available opening.

201BA size and tooling selection

SpecificationListed value
Tube outside diameter range0.250–2.000 in (6.4–50.8 mm), with suitable accessories
Small adjustable saddle range0.250–0.600 in OD (6.4–15.2 mm)
Large adjustable saddle range0.600–2.000 in OD (15.2–50.8 mm)
Maximum listed wall thickness0.400 in (10.2 mm), subject to cutting procedure
Narrow body dimension1.45 in (36.8 mm); check full operating clearance
Cutting-head options1.45 in (36.8 mm) and 2.00 in (50.8 mm)
Listed air-machine weight15 lb (6.8 kg)

Nominal pipe sizes are different from actual OD. Provide the measured tube diameter when selecting saddles and heads. Maximum wall capacity depends on the material, cutting bit and preparation; heavier-wall applications require review.

Drive and material requirements

Pneumatic and electric configurations are listed for the 201BA. Confirm the supplied motor, air-flow or electrical requirements and controls for the job. The air-machine operating manual lists 32 cfm at 90 psi (approximately 15 L/s at 621 kPa); use the manual matching the supplied motor.

Select facing or beveling bits for the required weld profile and material. Carbon steel, chrome alloys, stainless steel and copper-nickel work need suitable tooling. Inconel and other high-temperature alloys may require special procedures.

Request a boiler-tube setup

Send Justram the actual OD, wall thickness, material, bevel drawing, panel opening and available tube projection. Include the drive preference and access restrictions so the saddle, head and tooling can be reviewed together.
