Tri Tool 301SP Tube Squaring Machine

The Tri Tool 301SP is a saddle-mounted tube squaring machine for straight tubing and short-grip fittings before autogenous welding. It covers 0.125–1.125 inches OD (3.2–28.6 mm) with suitable saddles. Short-perch saddles are available for fittings with approximately 3/16 inch of straight gripping length.

Square tube and microfitting ends

The 301SP uses size-specific OD saddles to support the workpiece during end-facing. The short-perch arrangement is useful where a fitting leaves little straight tube for clamping. A graduated cam feed gives the operator control of tool travel, and the retracting feed helps clear the bit between cuts.

301SP specifications and saddle choice

SpecificationListed value
Tube or fitting OD range0.125–1.125 in (3.2–28.6 mm), with suitable saddles
Maximum listed wall thickness0.125 in (3.2 mm)
Short-perch saddle gripApproximately 0.188 in (4.8 mm); confirm the fitting and saddle
Standard saddle clearance planningAllow 0.625 in (15.9 mm) of straight gripping length; verify the selected saddle
Axial feed travel0.200 in (5.1 mm)
Drive optionsAir, corded electric or cordless; confirm the supplied motor
Air supply22 cfm at 90 psi (621 kPa)

The manufacturer lists 0.600 inch as the machine clamping minimum and 0.625 inch for standard saddle grip. For a tight installation, use the saddle drawing and actual fitting geometry to confirm clearance. Short-perch clamping requires the appropriate saddle set.

Configure the machine for the workpiece

Provide the OD, wall thickness, material, fitting drawing and available straight length. Confirm the cutting bit and preparation method for stainless steel, carbon steel, chrome alloys, copper-nickel or aluminium. Demanding alloys require an application review.

For electropolished or high-purity tubing, specify contact surfaces, cleanliness and lubrication requirements. Check these against the supplied saddle and machine configuration. Bench stands, compatible foot controls and other production accessories are selected to suit the job.

Current listed weights differ by drive: 5.4 lb with air, 7.8 lb with corded electric and 8.0 lb with cordless power. Confirm battery, charger, guard, saddle and tool-bit inclusion in the quotation.
