MultiStrike Tungsten Electrodes
Techweld MultiStrike tungsten electrodes from Huntingdon Fusion Techniques use a non-thoriated dopant blend for TIG welding. Batch identification supports traceability. Confirm electrode diameter, length and availability with Justram for your AC or DC application.
Non-thoriated electrodes for AC and DC TIG welding
HFT MultiStrike electrodes use rare-earth dopants in place of thoria. Applications include steels and alloys with DC TIG, and aluminium with AC TIG. Select the electrode diameter, tip preparation and welding settings for the material, torch and procedure.
Arc performance and traceability
HFT reports up to ten times as many arc strikes as conventional 2% thoriated electrodes under identical test conditions. Actual electrode life depends on current, polarity, tip condition, contamination and arc-starting practice; the comparison is not a guaranteed service-life multiplier for every job.
Retain the original packaging and batch reference for traceability. If your job requires a particular electrode classification, standard edition or certificate, include it with your enquiry so documentation can be confirmed for the supplied product.
Choose the electrode size
Justram lists two standard lengths:
- 150 mm (approximately 6 in)
- 175 mm (approximately 7 in)
Confirm the exact supplied length, diameter, pack quantity and torch compatibility before ordering. Special-length requirements can be discussed with Justram. Provide the base material, AC or DC process, operating current and any specified electrode preparation.
Prepare and handle the electrodes
Use suitable tungsten grinding equipment and follow the electrode and grinder instructions. Non-thoriated composition does not remove the need to control grinding dust or follow the applicable safety data sheet. Keep the prepared tip clean and recondition an electrode contaminated by contact with the weld pool.
