The Magnatech Pipemaster 516 is a controller for compatible external welding power sources. Unlike the self-contained Pipemaster 515, the 516 controls current programming and pulsing while a separate power source supplies the welding current.

- System welding-current capability up to 600 A, depending on the compatible external power source and complete system ratings.
- 100/240 VAC, single-phase, 1 kVA, 50/60 Hz autoranging controller input.
- Control of weldhead rotation, filler-wire feed, electronic arc-gap control, oscillation, cross-seam adjustment and synchronized current pulsing where supported.
- Up to 100 stored weld programs per pendant, with auto-program, teach and position- or time-based programming functions.
- USB transfer, supervisory overrides and weld-parameter monitoring to support documentation and procedure management.
Applications
The Pipemaster 516 is suited to multi-pass pipe, tube and tubesheet applications that need automated GTAW weldhead control alongside an appropriately sized external power source. The controller input rating is separate from the external source’s electrical supply, duty cycle and output rating.

Compatible weldheads and accessories
Specify the exact external welding power source, interface, cooling arrangement and cable reach with the controller. The Pipemaster 516 can be paired with compatible GTAW weldheads such as the D-Head 420 and T-Head 419, subject to configuration review.
