Peripheral Sealing Pipe Plugs — Pipestoppers PlugFast

Pipestoppers PlugFast peripheral sealing pipe plugs use tightening points around the circumference to close the sealing plates evenly. This arrangement allows local adjustment for slight pipe ovality, subject to the selected plug’s operating range and installation instructions.

Choose the bore range and port arrangement

The listed models cover nominal 18–48 inch pipe sizes, with model-specific operating bores spanning 440–1,230 mm. Nominal pipe size and operating bore range are different measurements: select from the actual bore limits in the sizing table. Ask Justram about special diameters or larger configurations.

The standard centre stem takes a 2-inch BSP screw cap. A custom twin-port version normally adds an offset 4-inch (100 mm) plain-bore port with a steel drain test plug, allowing controlled draining through the auxiliary arrangement. Confirm the supplied drain components and operating procedure; alternative ports are available to order.

Installation and mandatory restraint

These plugs must be supported by an engineered brace designed to withstand the calculated back pressure. Do not use them without that brace. Provide the operating pressure and pipe dimensions when requesting the plug and restraint requirements.

1. Select the model for the measured internal diameter and stated operating range.
2. Remove grease and foreign material from the installation area, then position the plug square to the pipe wall.
3. Tighten peripheral nuts progressively in diametrically opposite order, distributing tightening evenly. Excessive tightening can distort the clamp ring.
4. Confirm the centre cap and any second outlet are correctly sealed, and follow the supplied instructions for the complete plug and engineered restraint.

Listed sizes and back-pressure limits

The table retains the individual model bore ranges, maximum back pressures and weights. The back-pressure limit varies by size; it is not a single rating for the full range. Confirm the exact model, service conditions and bracing design before use.

Material and application review

For immersion, chemical exposure or heated work, specify the medium, concentration, temperature and duration so the complete plug and seal can be assessed. Heavy-duty construction alone does not establish compatibility with every chemical or temperature.
