Justram-configured PurgEye 100 package

The core PurgEye 100 instrument is manufactured by HFT. Justram supplies it in a substantially enhanced, jobsite-ready package with custom-fitted foam and a heavy-duty impact-resistant case. The inline sampling filter and two Gorilla tripod sizes are optional accessories, selected separately to suit the application.

The PurgEye 100 weld purge monitor with case is a portable package for measuring residual oxygen in weld purge gas. The API0100-HD kit combines the IP65 instrument with Justram’s protective carrying case and sampling accessories for transport between the workshop and job site.

Battery type depends on the instrument generation: previous-generation PurgEye 100 monitors with plastic housings use AA batteries; newer-generation monitors with metal housings use AAA batteries. Check your instrument’s battery compartment and user manual before fitting replacements.

Readings, calibration and instrument features

The PurgEye 100 measures from atmospheric oxygen to 100 ppm (0.01%). Its display, low-sensor and low-battery indicators help the operator monitor the instrument, and the housing includes a tripod mount. Automatic sleep mode conserves battery power when the monitor remains above 20% oxygen for more than one hour.

The monitor provides push-button calibration at atmospheric and low-oxygen reference levels. Follow the user instructions for the required reference conditions, calibration procedure and sampling arrangement. Match the instrument range to the oxygen acceptance limit in the welding procedure; the reading alone does not certify weld quality.

Understand percentage and ppm readings

This table converts units only. It does not specify an acceptable oxygen level for a particular metal or welding application.
