Site Weld Purge Monitor — PurgEye 1500

The PurgEye 1500 Site weld purge monitor is a protected, site-ready oxygen analyser for pipe and tube welding. It displays oxygen concentration in ppm or percentage and operates from its rechargeable battery or a mains supply.

Rugged site monitor and enclosure protection

PurgEye 1500 Site is supplied in an impact-resistant carrying and storage case for demanding welding environments. The stated enclosure ratings are IP65 with the lid open and IP68 with the lid closed; the closed-case rating does not describe operation with the lid open.

Use it with tube or pipe weld purging systems, weld purging chambers and Flexible Welding Enclosures® where dependable oxygen monitoring is required.

Oxygen monitoring, OLED display and sampling pump

The monitor displays oxygen from 1,000 ppm down to 1 ppm, with specified accuracy of ±10 ppm. Its large, symbol-based OLED screen is designed for clear reading, while the internal electro-mechanical sampling pump can be switched on or off as required. A flow alert indicates insufficient sample-gas flow.

Additional operating features include ppm/percentage display selection, long-life sensor technology, high-frequency interference protection, a blocked-filter icon, sensor warm-up standby and user-set warning levels from 1 to 999 ppm.

PurgeNet™ machine interface and process control

PurgeNet™ can interface with compatible automatic welding systems and orbital welders using the appropriate cable accessory. When oxygen rises above the user-set limit, the monitor can signal the connected welding system to stop the arc, helping prevent weld oxidation. Once oxygen returns below the limit, it can signal that welding may resume.

PurgeAlarm™ and PurgeLog™ quality records

The optional IP66-rated PurgeAlarm™ provides a red status indication when the alarm is active and oxygen exceeds the selected threshold. An optional green indicator and audible sounder are also available. PurgeNet™ works with PurgeLog™ software to transfer weld-purge data for quality-control records.

Power and supplied equipment

The PurgEye 1500 Site can operate from its internal rechargeable battery or mains power. Battery operation is specified for up to 10 hours, with a low-battery warning before recharge is required.
