Pipe Alignment and Reforming Clamp — Mathey Super Clamp
Mathey Super Clamp with a split-frame rim design, turnbuckles and steel frames for pipe alignment, weld-gap adjustment and light reforming. Published HD limits distinguish alignment to Schedule 80 from reforming to Schedule 40; confirm capacity for the actual pipe and out-of-round condition.
The Mathey Super Clamp combines pipe alignment, weld-gap adjustment and light reforming in a split-frame rim-style clamp. Turnbuckles and jackscrews help position the joint while the frame surrounds the pipe.
Alignment and reforming are different duties
The published Super Clamp HD specifications list alignment to Schedule 80 and reforming to Schedule 40. Reforming capability also depends on pipe diameter, wall thickness, material and the amount of ovality. Confirm the model-specific capacity for the workpiece before selection.
Use the clamp for suitable pipe-to-pipe and other supported joint configurations. Its push/pull adjustment helps set the weld gap; the amount of correction available should be checked against the operating instructions.
Select a model for the pipe range
One Super Clamp covers several pipe sizes within its own range. Specify the actual outside diameter, nominal pipe size, schedule, material and measured out-of-round condition. Justram can confirm the appropriate model, contact arrangement and current availability.

Construction and supplied equipment
The design uses solid steel frames and adjustable turnbuckles. The manufacturer lists jackscrews with swivel pads, a breaker bar and socket, and a parts/operating manual. Confirm the quoted package and contact-material requirements for carbon steel, stainless steel or alloy work.
Compare fit-up tools
For alignment without a reforming requirement, review external alignment clamps. For suitable flange alignment from inside the pipe, see internal fit-up clamps.
Send Justram the pipe dimensions, material, joint geometry and required correction for selection assistance.
