Six sizes for tube tack welding
This TIG tack clamp kit helps align tube sections and fittings before the final weld. The clamp supports the joint position while the operator accesses the tack locations through the openings.
JUS-TWCK-14 kit contents
Six stainless steel clamps in the following listed tube sizes:
- 1 in
- 1-1/2 in
- 2 in
- 2-1/2 in
- 3 in
- 4 in
Confirm actual tube outside diameter and the required clamp fit before ordering. Nominal pipe sizes are not interchangeable with tube outside diameters. Also check the fitting shape, straight gripping length and access for your torch.
Positioning the tack clamp
- Place the segment with the pressure plate and fixed hinge on the tube.
- Bring the movable segment and tightening screw into position.
- Tighten by hand with moderate pressure. Do not use tools to tighten the screw.
- Check alignment and torch access before tacking; release the clamp by hand after the joint is adequately secured.
Support the assembly independently. The clamp is an alignment aid, not a substitute for suitable tube supports or a lifting device.
Prepare for the final weld
Choose tack size, location, number and welding settings to suit the material, wall thickness and qualified procedure. A small access window calls for a compatible torch; it does not define the required power-source rating. Confirm the subsequent manual or orbital welding sequence before removing the clamp.
Clamping contact may help manage local heat, but shielding, purge conditions and the welding procedure still determine oxidation and heat tint. Check the joint and tack condition before the final weld.
For complementary equipment, browse our pipe alignment tools and weld purge plugs. Include the tube dimensions and joint arrangement when requesting application support.
