Tube-to-Tubesheet Joint Vacuum Testing — EST G650 Guns
EST G650 vacuum joint tester for expanded tube-to-tubesheet joints in heat exchangers. Choose the manifold and seal set for the tube dimensions; G650A serves larger tubes. Not suitable for welded joints or overlapping flared tube ends.
The EST G650 vacuum joint tester seals inside the tube and against the tubesheet face to check the expanded tube-to-tubesheet joint. It is used during heat-exchanger manufacture, retubing and maintenance where the joint and sealing surfaces are suitable.
G650 and G650A selection
- G650: configurations for nominal tube outside diameters from 3/8 to 1-1/4 inches (9.5–31.8 mm).
- G650A: configurations for nominal tube outside diameters from 1-1/2 to 2-1/2 inches (38.1–63.5 mm).
- Match the manifold, square ring, seal and washer set to the actual OD, wall thickness and bore. The family range is not the capacity of one universal assembly.
- Manifold extensions are available for channel-head or water-box access.
Application limits
These tools are not suitable for welded tube-to-tubesheet joints, overlapping flared tube ends, or extremely corroded or eroded tubesheet faces. Provide photographs and dimensions where surface condition or access may affect the seal.
Air supply and operating reference
The listed plant-air supply range is 40–125 psi (2.7–8.6 bar). The stated 21–24 inHg vacuum performance is based on 100 psi inlet pressure and 10 SCFM; it is not a guaranteed result for every supply or setup. Use the manufacturer’s procedure for preparation, seal selection and test interpretation.
Information for your quotation
Send tube OD, wall thickness, tube pitch and spacing, joint construction, number of joints, and channel-head depth. Include any project quality or certification requirements so Justram can review the correct documentation.
For testing individual tubes, compare the G250 vacuum tube tester or G160 pneumatic tube tester. Browse tube testing and plugging equipment or request a G650 quotation.
